Wild Daisies On A Spring Day
I spent my childhood watching over my younger and very unhappy cousin, especially during the summers. Her parents were too busy with work and social events to spend much time with her. As a young adult, she married the man of her parents choosing, so eventually she became even more unhappy. Her parents and my mother pressured me to visit her consistently to keep her occupied during the daytime when she was alone.
During the summers I took her, my baby daughter and her baby son in tow and we went to the beach everyday, or to various places to have fun. I still found it difficult to make her happy, but there was one thing that made her eyes light up, "DAISIES!"
She never liked me very much because her parents made it clear that my only worth was to see to her needs. So I couldn't blame her for not respecting me, I just felt badly for her. She could never be satisfied with anything, until she developed her love of daisies! So I dedicate this painting to her with the hope that she is happy and blessed!
If I were to see her again, I would say, "Dear cousin, I hope that 'Blooming Daisies and Violets' will fill your senses with the sweet fragrance of these bright flowers and transport you to a tranquil, serene realm. Much love.
