A Peaceful Retreat
I wanted "Whispering Waters" to be a breathtaking landscape painting that transports the viewer to a tranquil oasis of serenity. Capturing a cascading waterfall tumbling gracefully down rocky steps was important to me so that one can imagine a soothing symphony of flowing water while smelling a wild garden of vibrant flowers growing at it's edge.
I wanted to use soft tones in various shades of pink, peach, and yellow orange for the flowers because my imagination was set on creating a place that is visually soft and lovely. This is how I would create my backyard if my home were hidden in the woods. I could look out my window mid-afternoon and watch the delicate petals of the flowers swaying in the gentle breeze.
Overall, "Wispering Waters" is a dream put to canvas of tranquil beauty, a visual meditation on the restorative power of nature. For me, it evokes a sense of calm and solitude, offering a respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in the quiet beauty of this idyllic landscape.
