This new addition to my whimsical animal series is a depiction of a tiny black and gold Yorkie puppy nestled within a pink tulip. I painted him to look like my Yorkie, Angus, the day we adopted him and took him home. He was so tiny that he could have fit into a large flower, so I painted him inside a tulip.
Although his ears dropped, they were tall and pointed at first. They looked like little wings growing out of his head. Eventually they folded over, but it made him even cuter. He is adorable no matter what!
I love flowers, and find tulips one of the most beautiful and delicate of flowers. It was the perfect place to hold a tiny puppy to show his innocence and vulnerability in life. Baby animals especially need much care and love. Without our care, they won't survive.
I painted this picture to represent all the many pet owners who recognize the need to protect their pets as family members because they are one of God's most special creatures.
