A stylized image representing the essence of 'Selling paintings that inspire prayer and faith'. The scene depicts hands gently holding a glowing oil painting depicting a sunrise over a calm sea. A faint silhouette of praying figure can be seen in the painting. The lighting is soft and ethereal, emanating from the painting itself. The color palette is dominated by warm, inviting hues of gold, rose, and lavender. Focus on the texture of the hands and the subtle glow of the painting. The background is blurred and indistinct, emphasizing the central image. Style reference: Contemporary spiritual art. Technical specs: 4K resolution, high quality, soft focus.

Fervent Prayer

Following The Light From Within

Why and How I Created This Painting

I wanted to create a portrait that represents the many women I have known throughout my life since I was a child who were beacons of light through their fervent prayers for others.

For this reason I wanted the woman's face to express a passionate intensity with complete focus and devotion.  It was important that she appear strong and confident in her trust and faith in God because it is at this place within the heart or spirit that our prayers are fulfilled.

Therefore, the story of this painting is that by faith she has already acknowledged from the core of her being that she has received the answer to her prayer before it has even ended.  This is what faith is; trusting God by believing that once we ask God for something, we have already received it based on Mark 11:24.

I also wanted this painting to symbolize the act of prayer based on faith and not on the physical action itself, as a pathway to answered prayers and divine intervention. Prayer conveys a sense of surrender and trust by laying our deepest desires and fears at the feet of God in Christ.

I desire that the viewer sees this truth in this painting and that prayer is important because we can pray for others and their situations rather than praying only for ourselves.  As an older woman, I no longer feel the need to pray that much for myself except to receive greater wisdom. My age has shown me that the true joy in prayer is in praying for others.

I also wanted to capture the transformative power of prayer in the the flowers and butterfly, illustrating how taking the time to connect spiritually can bring peace, clarity, and solace in times of need. I invite you to share in this woman's sacred moment of communion with the divine as a reminder to remain connected to God.

The "Fervent Prayer" painting is at this moment complete, but still drying. Once dry it will receive 2 to 3 coats of semi-gloss varnish for protection.  I used a high quality acrylic for the underpainting and completed the piece with oil. It will be ready in a month from today, August 3 2015.

The flowers may show a little darker on your computer.  Here is an enlargement of one of the Peony flowers to give more accuracy of the peony flowers I painted to enhance the painting.

Finding Beauty in Art

Through Paintings of Faith

A photorealistic image of an abstract acrylic painting that utilizes drips, splatters, and layered textures. The colors should be a mix of soft, earthy tones with bright pops of color, showing the beauty that can be found even in seemingly chaotic expressions. The overall mood should be one of peace and serenity, highlighting the appreciation for the imperfect, natural beauty of the artwork.
